6:30pm Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 at ACC
Present: Roger Irvin, Dorothy Brinckerhoff, John Scott, Jeanne Lindsay
Absent: Jasmine Graves, Melissa Meyer
1. Discuss and approve minutes of the previous meeting
Approved
2. Review board email votes since last meeting
None.
3. Prioritize Agenda
4. Preschool Updates
We have a candidate who has expressed interest in the preschool teacher position for next year. Dorothy & Melissa plan to interview the candidate.
5. Review & Accept Financial Reports for May
Moved and approved to use the remaining funds from the Knutson grant to partially pay for the storage shed.
Moved and accepted the financial reports.
6. Website update
Sky Evans has volunteered to help with updates to the ACC web site. John has set her up with a WordPress login.
7. Building maintenance
Jeanne will work on curating a list of projects that need to be done around the Center, and on raising volunteers to work items from this list. We brainstormed this start to the list:
- Distribute the pile of gravel from the parking lot into pot holes,
- Repair the playground fence,
- build a ramp to new shed,
- insulate the shed,
- rototill back yard to even its level,
- break down the remaining raised bed,
- whack blackberries along the east wall,
- weed whack ditches and edges,
- weed around the base of the pine tree along Webster,
- replace toy box hinges.
Furnace: we reminded ourselves of where we left that conversation last year, and formed intention to renew work on this next month.
We have a new vacuum cleaner donated by Jeanne.
8. Storage Shed Project
We received delivery of our new shed 6/3/25. Dorothy will ask Joe Evans to pull power to the shed. Jeanne has labeled the keys and delivered them to the “key tray” in the wood cabinet in the cry room. We toured the shed. We decided to buy two 6’x2’x6’ heavy duty shelves for the shed.
9. Back (south) wall siding
We reviewed the south wall. We confirmed that it is planks rather than composite siding, and that it appears to only have rot damage near the bottoms. Roger speculated that it might be possible to simply cover it with a fresh layer of siding. The horizontal boards of the attic level appear too degraded to support cladding them with a fresh layer of siding.
10. Alpine historic photos project
Jeanne will ask Lori Pelkey about how the large photo mural at the library was produced.
Tabled.
11. Yard sale
Jasmine and Jeanne are organizing a distributed, date-coordinated community yard sale on Saturday Aug 9th. They are coordinating with Heritage Hall Kepi-Naknak and inviting all comers to have tables at ACC or Heritage Hall, or at their own homes. We discussed ways we could promote the event. One idea is that we could produce a map of all the coordinated sale locations, that we could have available at ACC and Heritage Hall. Jeanne & Dorothy will email our list serve a “save the date” notification to recruit participants.
12. New business
None.
13. Agenda for July
Furnace and HVAC plans
14. Schedule
